3.2 ENGAGING EVERYONE

A key aim of our strategy is to be inclusive and to recognise the diversity of people who live in Worcestershire and listen to their views. We recognise that there are some groups of people we traditionally have not engaged with and their views may be under represented in consultation processes. In Worcestershire, as a result of our audit of consultation, we have found that the views of the following groups are often missed:

• Asylum Seekers/Refugees
• Black and Minority Ethnic Groups (BMEs) in particular Asian women
• Children aged 0-5
• Children aged 5-13
• Faith Communities
• Gay, lesbian and bisexual men and women, transsexual and transgendered people
• Gypsies and travellers
• Homeless people
• Migrant workers
• Older People/Vulnerable Older People
• Parents, carers and families
• People with learning disabilities
• People with physical and/or sensory disabilities
• People with mental health issues
• People caring for adults who have a disability, an illness or need support because of old age
• People living in rural areas
• People living in deprived areas
• People who misuse drugs/alcohol
• Teenage parents
• Women who are experiencing, or who have survived, domestic violence
• Young People aged 13-19
• Youth and adult offenders
• Young Carers
