The association is a support group who’s prime objective is to help increase the participation in Outdoor Education across the county, through seeking funding for groups and organisations working with young people in the outdoors.
The Association is not linked directly to the Worcestershire Outdoor Education Service but it does recognise that the Outdoor Service is the main route into Outdoor Activities for many young people within the County through the three Centres at Malvern Hills, Upton Warren and Llanrug.
In its role to encourage participation in Outdoor Education the Association supports the work of the Outdoor Service and other providers, particularly Teachers and Youth Workers seeking to provide activities for their own students/members.
As a voluntary organisation the Association is unable to formally recommend or vet the quality of provision or operating procedures of activity providers and the responsibility for this remains with the trip/visit leader, further advice may be available from the County Adviser for Educational Visits and Outdoor Education.
The Association is seeking ideas from schools and youth organisations regarding suitable projects to promote outdoor education within the county to lend its support to.
