My Services

Children's Centres in Worcestershire

Since 2004 Worcestershire has embraced the Every Child Matters Agenda and has invested in building an infrastructure that will support the delivery of services to the youngest members of our communities and their families.

Many of our young children live in areas of disadvantage and we want to target our resources to help support these children in growing up to be happy, healthy and achieving their goals. Research shows that early intervention, free at the point of delivery, can have a tremendous impact on the life chances of children who otherwise may not reach their full potential.

Worcestershire County Council has worked in partnership with a variety of organisations to deliver a mixed economy of service providers to deliver better outcomes for children and young people.

As the programme has grown and more Children’s Centres have been established we have invested in staff training to ensure that the quality of services meets the highest standards.

Worcestershire currently has 25 Children’s Centres across the county, plus a number of associated outreach silts. The work will continue as we approach Phase Three of this programme and by 2010 all parents and children under five years will have access to Children’s Centre services.
