Children's Centres

Children’s Centres provide a range of services for families in the local community, particularly parents and carers with children under the age of five.  They are a provide information, help and support tailored to meet reflect the needs of the local community. Every Children’s Centre in every community is different, reflecting the needs of the families using them. Agencies and organisations work together to deliver a variety of services that will improve the outcomes for children.

Children’s Centres offer a wide range of services, which might include:

  • High quality integrated early education and childcare
  • Good quality teacher input to lead the development of learning
  • Family support
  • Child and family health services
  • Outreach work
  • Links with Jobcentre Plus
  • Parental involvement

In Worcestershire there are currently 25 Children’s Centres with more being developed by 2010.
