Anti-Bullying in Worcestershire presents…
A programme of local multi-agency events for adults working with
children and young people in Worcestershire.

Thanks to feedback and requests for support from the inaugural Next Steps event (July 2008) the Anti-Bullying Operational Group has developed one conference-style event, to be delivered in five local venues throughout Worcestershire.

The events will:

  • Encourage a multi-agency dialogue; promoting a consistent approach to supporting children and young people affected by bullying throughout organisations in your local community
  • Support managers to prevent bullying by creating positive environments where children are safe to learn, enjoy and flourish
  • Provide practical tools to support practitioners in challenging bullying behaviours
  • Develop awareness and confidence to tackle different types of bullying and specific issues: bullying around disabilities and SEN, homophobic, racist, and cyberbullying
  • Provide information about best practice, guidance and support available to help stop bullying in Worcestershire

The conference has been split into two distinct sessions:

  • The morning is intended for senior management and leadership teams, providing information on whole-school/setting approaches to preventing bullying;
  • The afternoon is intended for teachers and practitioners, providing information and support in effectively tackling incidents of bullying.

Whilst delegates are welcome to stay all day, we hope that you will be able to release the most appropriate staff to attend morning or afternoon sessions. The events are being delivered in local areas to enable greater attendance and to promote a multi-agency, partnership approach to effectively tackling bullying.
