The role of the Environmental Health Services Division is as follows:-
1) To deal with complaints and enquiries relating to drainage, pollution of air, land and water (including noise pollution - commercial, industrial, vehicular and domestic); food safety; pest control; health and safety at work; infectious disease control; stray dogs, nuisance control; and general public health nuisance control.
2) To provide the following additional services:-
Please remember that the Environmental Health Staff are frequently employed in various locations throughout the District and, therefore, they may not be able to speak to you when you telephone or be able to see you if you visit the Council House unannounced.
With the exception of complaints relating to insect and vermin (rats and mice), the best time to make personal contact with an officer who is dealing with your complaint or enquiry is by telephoning between 08.45 am. and 10.30 am., or 4.00 pm. and 5.15pm. (4.45 pm. on Fridays).
Once an officer has been assigned to you, you will be able to contact them by telephoning their direct line telephone number. If the officer concerned is not available, you may leave a message on the "voice mail" facility, or have your call redirected if your business is of an urgent nature.
