Heather Trail at Hartlebury Common

Distance

1 mile / 1.6 kilometres

Description

Perhaps this trail is best in summer when the heath is a carpet of mauve Heather attracting colourful butterflies and bees.

Or maybe autumn when the trees are turning gold and yellow and patterned fungi clings to the bark. Some would prefer the middle of winter, with the crisp clarity of the views. But then there's spring when birds are singing, flowers are blooming and the whole heath is waking up to a new season. What a difficult choice.

Terrain, undulating and unsurfaced (grass, compacted and loose sand), without steps. It is not suitable for wheelchairs, mobility scooters or pushchairs.
