About Connecting Families
Connecting Families is an approach that brings together agencies across Worcestershire to break down the system barriers that stop us providing effective support for families. The approach has been running in Redditch since January 2016 and has seen staff join together from agencies including social care, early help, police, health and the Department of Work and Pensions.
Staff from these agencies work as one team so that families have one worker who co-ordinates all the other agencies to put a single package of support together.
The key aims of Connecting Families are to:
- Enable individuals and communities to support themselves
- Work together to provide the best possible support for the children and families who need it
- Be creative and innovative in thinking of new ways to work with vulnerable families
- Challenge the behaviours and culture across our workforce to enable everyone to think and act differently when it comes to supporting children and families
This approach will be rolled out to the other districts in Worcestershire during 2017.
