Instrument Hire

We offer an instrument hire service to pupils who are having regular lessons through Worcestershire Youth Music.

How to Hire an Instrument

Either order online by completing our Instrument Hire Web Form, or contact our office on 01905 333344 to request a hard copy. Once we have received an application from you we will invoice you for the hire and the instrument will be delivered to your child's school once payment has been received.

From September 2011 all hire rates will be £25 per term. Instruments available to hire are:

The termly hire fee includes the following support services:

• Instrument Insurance – All instruments hired are automatically covered by Worcestershire Youth Music's insurance policy when at home, in school or in transit.
• Collection and Delivery of instruments at school – When you begin hiring from us, we will deliver your instrument to your child's school.  When an instrument needs repairing or, in the case of string instruments, a larger instrument is required, we will collect your instrument and deliver a new one. When you need to return the instrument to us, we will also collect it directly from the school.
• Repairs and Service – Our instruments are repaired and serviced by in-house technicians. Whenever an instrument requires a repair we try to ensure that a replacement is provided.

Instrument Purchase Scheme

As an education provider, we are able to offer children and young people access to our Instrument Purchase Scheme. The scheme is only available to pupils who are currently having tuition with Worcestershire Youth Music.

The scheme offers parents/guardians the opportunity to purchase an instrument at the cost price (excluding VAT).  At present this means that the price of an instrument would be reduced by 20%. Worcestershire Youth music charges a £10 administration fee for this service.

How it works:

• Select the instrument you wish to purchase, this can be a new or second-hand. The supplier needs to be based in the UK and accept a County Council purchase order; instruments sold on eBay are not acceptable.
• Complete the application form (202.5 KB) and return to Worcestershire Youth Music with any relevant supplier quotes attached.
• Worcestershire Youth Music will invoice you directly for the cost of the instrument excluding VAT.
• Once the invoice is paid the instrument can be released.
