Benefits of Walking

Walking is a convenient way of getting around because
you don’t need any special equipment and you can go where you want,
when you want!
Health professionals recommend a minimum of 30 minutes exercise
of moderate intensity at least five days a week for general health
benefits.
Approximately 60 per cent of men and 70 per cent of women are
currently not taking these levels of exercise. If is suits to break
this down and do, for example, three sessions of ten minutes
walking in a day, that’s just as good. Walking instead of taking
the car is any easy way to include this level of exercise into your
daily routine.
Being Physically Active Will:
- Reduce the risk of developing heart disease, osteoporosis or
diabetes.
- Help to relieve stress and anxiety.
- Help to control your weight.
