Worcestershire County Council
Voluntary and Community Sector Grants Scheme
Worcestershire County Council runs a
grants scheme for the Voluntary and Community Sector
(VCS) that runs twice a year in Spring and Autumn. On these
pages you can find out about:
What types of grants are
available?
Our grants are split into two
types:
- Strategic Grants provide funding
for a three-year period and are monitored by the relevant grant
lead during this period
- Community Grants fund 'one-off'
events or initiatives during a single year.
What are the grants
for?
The purpose of the grants is to fund
VCS organisations that can deliver valuable community services,
such as activities for older people, community transport provision
and support for carers. The grants available can be different in
each round therefore we encourage organisations to check the web
pages in each round to see what is available.
How can you
apply?
Details of specific grants will be
available on these webpages when each round of funding is open
for applications, be sure to check our web pages reguarly for all
the latest information.
Why is the Council
funding the VCS through this process?
Worcestershire County Council undertook
a Best Value Review of its work with the Voluntary & Community
Sector in 2004. It was agreed that the Shopping, Investing &
Giving framework be put in place in response to this
review and its main purpose is to make the whole
funding process more transparent and robust.
