Race for Life - Park and Ride in Worcester (June 12)
The Race
Join the girls to help beat cancer at Tesco and Cancer Research
UK’s Race for Life 2011. This year, Cancer Research
UK is hoping to bring together one million women to
raise an amazing £80 million for their lifesaving work.
Race for Life is more than just an incredible day out – it’s
helped fund amazing advances in cancer research across the UK for
the last 17 years. In 2011 they need more women than ever to take
part in Race for Life. Every two minutes someone is diagnosed with
cancer in the UK. So walk, jog or run to help save more lives.

Worcester Race for Life
In 1999 the first Race for Life was held in the City of
Worcester. The race had 700 participants and within 3 years the
number of participants had risen to 3,000. In response to the
demand for this increasingly popular race, the decision was made to
take the race into the City Centre. Automatically this
increased the capacity of the race and in 2009, 5,000 participants
helped raise over £300,000 for Cancer Research UK.
Out of the 280 races held annually by Cancer Research UK,
Worcester is in the top 20 of the most successful races across the
country and is established as the single biggest Race for Life in
the Midlands.
Now recognised as a major regional event, Worcester’s Race for
Life is something the people of Worcester can be proud of.
This year's Race for Life will take place on Sunday,
June 12, 2011, starting at 11:00am.
