National Concessionary Travel Scheme
The English National Bus Concession Scheme offers anyone over
the age of 60 and eligible disabled people free travel on off-peak
local bus services anywhere in England. Off-peak hours are between
9.30am until 11.00pm Monday to Friday and all day weekends and bank
holidays.
From 1 April 2009, the district councils of Worcestershire will
offer the concessionary fares scheme before 09:30hrs and after
23:00hrs as per the tables below:
During off-peak hours, Concessionary Bus passes will be eligible
for use as per the table below:
To apply for a Concessionary Bus Pass or for further information
on eligible journeys, please contact the Worcestershire

Changes from 1st April 2010.
Concessionary Travel Cards are available to eligible disabled
people and to people over 60 years of age. Until pensionable age is
equalised between the sexes in 2020, men will continue to become
eligible for a concessionary bus pass when they reach the
pensionable age of a woman born on the same day.
Changes to the age of eligibility will not impact on anyone
already in possession of a bus pass. The changes will only affect
those due to turn 60 on or after 6 April 2010 and will bring
eligibility for the national bus concession into line with changes
to other entitlements that have already been announced by the
Department for Work and Pensions.
Worcestershire pass holders are able to travel
free of charge between 9.30am and 11.00pm on weekdays and free
travel is available outside these hours with restrictions based on
the District issuing your Concessionary Travel card and the
District in which you board the bus.
