Pot Holes and regular update on Worcestershire
Roads
The severe winter created a significant number
of potholes and other damage to our roads over the last few
months. The following provides an update on progress we are
making in repairing pot holes. In addition, it provides brief
detail on how we are also completing other more major repairs to
damaged road surfaces.
- We have focused our Highways resources
to address the higher than normal number of pothole's that appeared
over the last few months. (with over 14,000 filled since mid
January 2010).
- Meanwhile we are continuing to revise
our road re-surfacing programme, to prioritise work on key areas
where the winter damage has been more severe. We have increased our
level of 'Surface dressing' of roads, and completing more larger
scale 'Patching repairs', to provide for a more permanent solution
to areas where we have been experiencing multiple potholes We
are also carefully focussing the deployment of our 2 jet-patching
gangs ( which repair short stretches/patches of road surface) to
similar effect.
Our Highways Inspectors and Engineers are
continuing to complete general and specific inspections which are
capturing any defects identified to be fixed (alongside any reports
provided by the public which will be investigated and appropriate
action taken).
