If you exhibit, use or train performing animals, you must be
registered with your local authority.

Application is via the Electronic Licence Management System
(ELMS). (In the first instance, you will need to register your
organisation on the Government Gateway.)

Licence Summary
- If you exhibit, use or train animals, in England, Wales or
Scotland, you must register with your local authority.
- Applications must contain details about the animals and the
performances they are to take part in.
- It is an offence for anyone to train or exhibit a performing
animal unless they are registered to do so under the Performing
Animals (Regulation) Act 1925.
- Once you have registered you need to notify us of any
changes.

Fees Applicable
- The granting of a licence costs £30.00.
- Registration is not subject to annual renewal.
- There is no charge to change a performing animals
registration.

When do Regulations Apply?
You can find out the regulations and when they take place in the
Performing
Animals Act 1925.
Will Tacit Consent Apply?
No. It is in the public interest that we must process your
application before it can be granted. If you have not heard from us
in a reasonable period, please contact us at animaltss@worcestershire.gov.uk

Application Evaluation Process
Prior to granting a licence, an officer will arrange for an
inspection to establish if the requisite standards are being
met.
