What is RSS?
RSS is a family of web feed formats used to publish frequently updated information such as blogs, news headlines, audio, and video all in a standardised format. An RSS document (which is called a "feed") includes full or summarised text, plus further information such as publishing dates and authorship. They benefit readers who wish to subscribe to updates from favoured web sites. RSS feeds can be read using software called RSS readers. The user subscribes to a feed by entering into the reader, an address similar to the ones below. The RSS reader checks the user's subscribed feeds regularly for updates.
