Challenge 2 - Waste

There are many ways you can waste less and reduce the amount of waste going to landfill.

The Worcestershire County Council Let's Waste Less website is full of information and advice to make it easier to reduce reuse and recycle more of your household waste. 

Take a Minute

• Use your local kerbside recycling collection.
• Take a bag with you when you go shopping.
• Only buy what you need and can use.

Take a Day

• Get a compost bin - visit the Lets waste less website to find out how to get a cheap compost bin.
• Tackle unwanted mail by taking simple steps such as leaving mailing lists and avoiding joining new ones.
• Donate unwanted furniture to your local reuse organisation.

Take a Month

• Fit a food waste disposer under your sink
• Use unwanted materials and off cuts to create something "new"
• Repair items rather than throwing them away
