Eco-Communities National Pilot 2010-2011
Eco-Schools can play a huge role in
inspiring sustainable living in their wider community.
Worcestershire County Council's Learning for
Sustainability Team worked in partnership with Keep Britain Tidy
over 2010-2011 on a national pilot Eco-Communities.
An Eco-Communities approach extends
Eco-Schools work and engagement into the wider community,
developing joint working around common themes, enhancing the
opportunities and practice of the settings that take part and
inspiring sustainable living in the community.
The five communities, in the north of
Worcestershire, that took part in the pilot were; Bromsgrove,
Batchley, Alvechurch, Rubery and Hagley.
