Care Services Quality Team (CSQT)

The CSQT has been set up to improve care home services in Worcestershire by providing support and guidance to care homes with a zero or 1 star rating from the Care Quality Commission (CQC).

The CSQT is also working to improve the quality of dementia care in partnership with the Primary Care Trust (PCT).

The CSQT will work with:

  • Adult Protection to safeguard service users.
  • The PCT to improve quality of care.
  • The CQC to improve the quality of care provision for people living with dementia in care homes.

CHOICE Project

University of Worcester: An opportunity to participate in national research

The Association for Dementia Studies at the University of Worcester is looking for care homes to participate in a national research project, funded by the Department of Health and Comic Relief.

The aim of the CHOICE project is to examine the links between organisational cultures and the care experiences of older people living in residential and nursing care. The research project involves in-depth case studies of 12 care homes across the UK and the Association of Dementia Studies is currently recruiting homes in and around Worcestershire. Findings from the study will increase knowledge about the role of organisational culture in ensuring good care, and provide information and resources to support care providers in reflecting on and implementing positive cultures of care.
