Visual Impairment
Information for people who are Visually Impaired (people
with substantial sight loss)
If you are visually impaired, you will have some loss of vision
or some distortion to your vision. Depending on the severity of
your sight loss or the degree of distortion, the conditions are
usually referred to as partial sightedness or blindness.
The Adult and Community Services Directorate is committed to
working with sensory impaired adults over 18 years of age to
promote their independence and quality of life.
We believe that everyone, no matter what their ability, has the
right to become full and active members of their community.
