to:
- Have more control in their lives

What Chances and Choices cannot do:
- We cannot give people paid work
- We cannot provide transport for everyone
- We cannot provide holidays
- We cannot provide a five day a week service for everyone
- We cannot treat everyone the same. This is because some people
will need more help than others.
Other people can help with things like:
- Finding paid or unpaid work
- Training for work
- Learning new skills
- Finding money to pay for support such as Direct payments or the
Independent Living Fund
- Travel
- Holidays
What we want to do more of:
- Listen to people with learning disabilities and help them to do
what is important to them
- Help people with learning disabilities to have more
choices
- Help people to keep friends and make more
- Be flexible – provide support during the evenings and
weekends
- Listen to family carers and officer support
- Move away from supporting people in large buildings
- Work with others who offer support
- Support people to do things out and about
- Respect and support people's religious and cultural needs
