What do Community
Support Services do?
The Community Support Services (CSS) are funded by Supporting
People and Worcestershire County Council to provide time
limited support to adults in the community who have a physical or
learning difficulty, or who are an older or vulnerable person.
The services provide a variety of practical and social
support which focus on enabling individuals to secure and
maintain their accommodation and to access the wider community.
Aims and Objectives
The aims and objectives of the community support service
are:
- To encourage individuality and as much independence as
possible
- To support the learning or re-learning of skills
- Encourage people to become part of the community
- Support people to use all the resources around them so that in
the end they won't need as much specialist help and won't need
CSS
What support can CSS offer?
- Securing / maintaining appropriate accommodation
- Accessing the correct benefits
- Managing debt / budgeting
- Accessing appropriate accommodation / registering with social
landlords
- Setting up a new home
- Understanding / addressing health and hygiene within the
home
- Obtaining furniture / appliances / computers
- Apply for / chasing up adaptations
- Accessing employment / volunteering / career / educational
opportunities
- Accessing social activities / cultural and leisure
facilities
- Accessing social / health services
- Accessing transport services
