| Fair Access to Care Services |
Department of Health guidance for councils providing a
framework for setting eligibility criteria for adult social care.
Its aim is to achieve fairer and more consistent eligibility
decisions across the country. |
| Fairer Charging for Care Services |
Department of Health guidance for councils who decide to charge
for any non-residential services on how to design reasonable and
fair charging policies. It seeks to ensure greater
consistency in charging policies across the country. |
| Financial Assessment |
An assessment of an individual's finances to identify how much
they will be expected to contribute to the cost of their care and
support services. |
| Floating Support |
A housing-related support service that is not tied to any
specific accommodation. Rather, it is ‘attached’ to the person, and
follows them if they move to another address. It only lasts as long
as the person needs it then ‘floats away’. The service user does
not have to live at a specific address to receive the
support. |
| Funding Source |
A budget, which can be used to pay for part of a person's
support arrangements. Most funding comes from local or
central government, and has specific conditions on what the money
can be used for. |
