Customer Engagement in Social Care
“Participation is more than developing a policy
and implementing it. It is about all members of an
organisation being committed to participation and recognising that
it will involve sharing power with users and carers.” -
SCIE (Social Care Institute for Excellence): Practice Guide: the
participation of adult service users including older people in
developing social care. March 2006.
We know that the best services can only be
provided if we take into account the experiences, ideas and
contributions of service users and carers in the County. Over a
number of years we have developed a variety of ways of how you can
be involved in telling us how you think social care services can
become more focussed on the person who needs them; this can be done
on-line, in person, by attending meetings and consultative groups
and completing questionnaires.
