HR School Employee Services, including:

  • Advice and guidance on terms and conditions of employment, pay and remuneration, recruitment advertising for teaching and support staff
  • Issuing letters of appointment/contracts of employment and enclosures to all staff and process all resignations, dismissals and retirements
  • Maintain absence/sickness records for teaching and support staff, processing monthly claim forms from relief teachers/support staff and liaison with payroll provider and pension administrators
  • Provide information  and guidance and carry out the employers responsibilities under the Teachers' Pension Scheme Regulations including processing of Annual Return
  • Online access to the authority's maintained Accredited Relief Teacher List.
  • Completion of statistical returns for external partners eg. School Workforce Census.

HR Health and Safety, including

  • Ensuring compliance with health and safety legislation
  • Undertaking audits to identify areas of non-compliance where resources need to be targeted
  • Provision of a safety management system including arrangements for advice and information, accident reporting, risk assessment, procedures, training and monitoring
  • For academies; identifying responsibilities for health and safety and the elements of safety management system that need to be developed

  • Administer statutory payments, deductions and processes including the annual return to HM Revenue & Customs (HMRC)
  • Processing contributions for public sector pension schemes
  • Payroll administration of salary sacrifice eg. childcare voucher and bike to work scheme
  • Voluntary and other deductions from pay, including attachment of earnings orders
  • Monthly management reports including interface to your financial system, customised to your chart of accounts
