Human Resources Service Include
HR Consultancy, including:
- Organisation redesign including job design and grading
- Recruitment and selection including development of job
descriptions and person specifications
- Performance management including disciplinary, grievance and
capability
- Exit strategies including redundancy, retirement, dismissal and
ill health
- Terms and conditions including advice and guidance around pay,
sickness absence, maternity
- Employee relations including liaison with trade unions and
advice and guidance in relation to industrial action
- Policy development offering model policies and procedures
- Easy access to other services including legal and occupational
health in order to progress specific issues.
HR
Records Employment Contracts and Administration, including:
- Advice and guidance on terms and conditions of employment, pay
and remuneration, recruitment advertising for teaching and support
staff
- Issuing letters of appointment/contracts of employment and
enclosures to all staff and process all resignations, dismissals
and retirements
- Maintain absence/sickness records for teaching and support
staff, processing monthly claim forms from relief teachers/support
staff and liaison with payroll provider and pension
administrators
- Provide information and guidance and carry out the
employers responsibilities under the Teachers' Pension Scheme
Regulations including processing of Annual Return
- Online access to the authority's maintained Accredited Relief
Teacher List.
- Completion of statistical returns for external partners eg.
School Workforce Census.

HR Health and Safety, including
- Ensuring compliance with
health and safety legislation
- Undertaking audits to
identify areas of non-compliance where resources need to be
targeted
- Provision of a safety
management system including arrangements for advice and
information, accident reporting, risk assessment, procedures,
training and monitoring

responsibilities for health and safety and the elements of safety
management system that need to be developed
