Children's Services Strategic Needs Analysis
In order to ensure that we continue to provide for the needs of
children and young people across Worcestershire, Children’s
Services have embarked upon a project to assess need at the local
area level.
As part of this, the Research and Intelligence Unit have
completed two key pieces of work:
- the creation of a mapping tool that displays and shares data at
the local area level
- the preparation of School and Community Cluster Profiles for
each of the 11 cluster areas in the county
This information is currently being used to inform a variety of
needs assessments which are taking place within Children’s
Services, including Worcestershire’s
Children and Young People’s Plan, and the
Extended Schools work as part of Extended Services.
Children's Services Mapping
The Children’s Services Mapping tool was created using
InstantAtlas. This tool visualises datasets covering a variety of
social and economic indicators, from population structure and pupil
attainment, to household income and unemployment.
The tool can be used to identify specific issues affecting local
communities, and provides evidence that can be used to support
organisations looking to bring about improvements in the lives and
experiences of children, young people and their families.
