Digitised Images and Documents

Please note that although you are able to order scanned copies of original documents online, we are currently unable to accept orders for printouts from microfilm. We will let you know as soon as this service is available again, and apologise for any inconvenience this may cause. 

We can scan certain documents in our possession and provide you with copies electronically or on paper.

However, not all records and photographs can be copied for you as there are copyright restrictions on some parts of our collection. We will need to check this prior to proceeding with your order. For some images we may need to ask you to contact the copyright holder to obtain permission.

To order an image:

• Click on the 'Add to Basket' button below and follow the instructions and fill in all details required.
• You will need to fill out a Scanning Request form (23KB) along with a Copyright Declaration form  (33KB). 
  Once these are complete and signed please post or fax them to us.
• Once we have both the form and the copyright declaration we can then process the order. This will be completed in the next 7 days and you will receive an e-mail confirming whether this can be supplied or not.
• If we can supply the image, please follow the link in the e-mail and send the e-payment. We will process the order in the next 7 days and send it to you once the payment and copyright form have been received.
• If we cannot supply the image we will send you an e-mail to let you know this and the reason why.
  
  Please note: you will not be able to pay for the item immediately. An e-mail will be sent back to you to tell you if we can supply it or not. If we can there will be a link to follow to go ahead with the payment and order. If we cannot do it for you we will send you an e-mail to explain why.
  
  The cost starts at £7.50 per image plus Postage & Packing. This is for use in private research. If you intend to use it in a publication or for commercial use you will need to discuss this with us first.
