Information Sharing
Increasingly, public authorities need to share information in
order to provide efficient and effective services. By linking
up information resources, both internally and with other
organisations, we can deliver a better service. Often, this
involves sharing personal information about individuals and when
this occurs, we are required to comply with the rules specified in
the Data Protection Act 1998.
Information Sharing in Worcestershire
In 2005 the Worcestershire Partnership Board commissioned a
multi-agency Information Sharing Steering Group to develop an
Information Sharing Standard, to which all partners committed. The
Group trialled the Standard by creating actual information sharing
protocols. Protocols explain what can be shared and how. The
Standard can be found on the Worcestershire
Partnership Board site.
We are working towards an Information Sharing Protocol
register.
