Worcestershire Capital & Asset Partnership -
Conference - 23 March 2012
In early 2010, Worcestershire became an
accelerated pathfinder for DCLG's Capital & Asset Pathfinder
pilot. This involved the submission of a number of
project opportunities to DCLG which demonstrated the benefits
achievable through a coordinated approach to the use of public
sector assets, and the potential for significant savings through
joint property rationalisation.
This pilot also delivered a joint vision for the use of public
assets over the longer term across the whole of Worcestershire, and
this is supported by multiple public sector organisations and
stakeholders.
As part of Worcestershire's commitment to sharing some of the
learning and best practice from this pathfinder work,
Worcestershire County Council and its pathfinder partners will be
delivering a workshop on Friday 23 March, 2012 at County
Hall. Property Services have been asked by DCLG and other
local authorities to share some of the learning and best
practice from this pathfinder work.
A free half day conference is
being offered to all interested parties and the agenda
(690KB) is built around a series of
workshops
(900KB) from which delegates can select a
couple to attend.
These will all be Capital & Asset
Pathfinder related and will cover asset mapping, property
rationalisation, community engagement, regeneration, collaborative
working, asset transfer, co-location and service
transformation.
A number of documented case studies will be provided in support of
each workshop and all of these will be available at the event
as part of the delegate pack which will also include a copy of
the Worcestershire
Partnership's Capital and Asset long-term Strategy for the
Future.
(4MB)
The half day conference will take
place on the morning of Friday, 23 March 2012, from
9.30am to approximately 1.00pm at Worcestershire County Council,
County Hall. This event will be supported and
attended by the Worcestershire Pathfinder Partners and will
provide valuable networking opportunities during the workshop
activities as well as an informal lunch.
We are expecting that spaces for this
event will go quickly as we already have a commitment
from a number of Authorities to attend.
Anyone wishing to attend should
contact Caroline Grosvenor
telephone: (01905 766401) to reserve a place as
soon as possible. You will need to confirm the name of
attendees, organisation, the title of the 2 workshops
each person would like to attend as well as their availability to
stay on for the networking lunch.
We look forward to welcoming you on the 23
March.
