In early 2010, Worcestershire became an
accelerated pathfinder for DCLG's Capital & Asset Pathfinder
pilot. This involved the submission of a number of
project opportunities to DCLG which demonstrated the benefits
achievable through a coordinated approach to the use of public
sector assets, and the potential for significant savings through
joint property rationalisation.
This pilot also delivered a joint vision for the use of public
assets over the longer term across the whole of Worcestershire, and
this is supported by multiple public sector organisations and

learning and best practice from this pathfinder work,
Worcestershire County Council and its pathfinder
partners delivered a workshop on Friday 23 March, 2012 at
County Hall. Property Services have been asked by DCLG
and other local authorities to share some of the learning
and best practice from this pathfinder work.
