  1. Q. I would like to extend my house, who can I discuss my proposals with?
    A.
    You will need to contact your local District Council. Worcestershire County Council as the County Planning Authority processes Minerals and Waste Management Planning Applications for developments such as  waste recycling /recovery facilities  landfill sites, mineral extraction from quarries and the County Council's own developments such as  schools, libraries, bridges and roads.

  2. Q. What are the opening hours of my local household waste site? I have some waste I need to get rid of, where should I take it?
    A.
    The County Planning Authority deal with Planning Applications for waste management facilities and the County Council's Waste Management Department deal with issues regarding the disposal of household waste. Visit the County Council's Waste Management Department Recycling and Waste website for more information regarding the disposal of household waste.

  3. Q. I would like to start up a waste management/recycling/recovery business. Do I require Planning Permission?
    A.
    Please contact one of the Planning Officers in the County Planning Authority Development Control team to discuss your proposals.

  4. Q. What can I do if I think someone is carrying out works without planning permission or outside of the terms of their planning consent?
    A.
    Please contact the County Planning Authority's Monitoring and Enforcement Officer who will investigate alleged breaches of planning control in relation to minerals and waste management sites and for County Council development in accordance with the Worcestershire County Council's Planning Enforcement Policy. Complaints may be received by letter, telephone or email. It would be helpful if details can be as informative as possible.

    No, the County Council cannot overrule a District or Borough Planning Decision.

    No, only the applicant can appeal a planning decision.

  8. Q. Can I, as an applicant appeal against a decision on my planning application?
    A.
    Yes, you have 6 months from the date of the planning decision notice to appeal a  decision to refuse permission or to appeal conditions where permission has been granted. Please see the Planning Appeals webpage for more information.
