The Worcestershire Acute Hospitals Accessibility Study
The Worcestershire Acute Hospitals Trust and Worcestershire County
Council worked in partnership to develop this technical study into
the accessibility of Redditch Alexandra Hospital, Kidderminster
General Hospital and Worcestershire Royal Hospital by all modes of

The Integrated Passenger Transport Best Practice
Reports
During the LTP2 period, Worcestershire County Council undertook
extensive research to inform the development of an Integrated
Passenger Transport Strategy for Worcestershire. The results of
this research were used to inform the development of the
Local Transport Plan 3
(4.9MB). A series of reports were produced outlining best

The 'Choose how you move' Sustainable Travel Demonstration Town
Project
Between 2004 and 2009, Worcestershire County Council
successfully bid for a Department for Transport grant to promote
sustainable travel choice (commonly referred to as smarter choices)
in Worcester City. The reports, which can be downloaded
using the links below, provide the extensive research
base that underpinned the project and the impressive results
that were achieved:

Sustainable Travel Demonstration Town Bid
2004
(198KB) - The original bid document to the Department for
Transport for a 5-year grant to promote smarter choices in
Worcester, aiming to reduce single occupancy car journeys by
residents by 10% between 2004 and 2009.

Travel Behaviour Research 2004 (Baseline
Survey)
(3.8MB) - This research was carried out in Worcester
to obtain information on how people travel and their reasons for
choosing how they travel. The analysis determines the potential for
reducing single occupancy car journeys.

Interim Research 2006
(922KB) - This report provides an evaluation of the
behaviour change generated by the first stage of the Individualised
Travel Marketing programme carried out in Worcester during March
- April 2006.

Interim Research 2007
(223KB) - This report provides an evaluation of the
behaviour change generated by the second stage of the
Individualised Travel Marketing programme carried out in Worcester
during April - May 2007.

Market Research Summary Report 2008
(811KB) - Market research was carried out in 2008 to
establish the effectiveness of the Choose how you move brand and
the potential to roll it out to other parts of Worcestershire. The
research also explored the suitability of existing Choose how you
move marketing materials and how they should be developed to reach
the target audience.

Travel Behaviour Research 2008
(168KB) - Completed in autumn 2008, this research evaluates
the impact of the Worcester Sustainable Travel Town project over
five years, how people travel and their reasons for choosing how
they travel. The report also assesses attitudes to travel and the
potential for further modal shift across the city.

'Choose how you move' Sustainable Travel Demonstration Town

Travel Behaviour Research 2010
(3.4MB) - Completed in April 2011, this research was
commissioned to evaluate the ongoing impacts of the Worcester
Sustainable Travel Town project, after the programme came to a
close.

Worcester City Cycle Audit
In 2007, a comprehensive audit of infrastructure and service
provision for cyclists was undertaken in Worcester
City. This audit was used to inform the development of
the
Connect2 project and the
