Schools' Library Service Charges 2011 - 2012

Using the Schools' Library Service is a cost effective way of providing a wider selection of up to date high quality resources in your school. With the average price of a children's book at £7.66, the SLS offers you access to a wider range of stock than one school can afford to purchase alone.

FULL SERVICE - available to Primary, Middle and Special Schools
The full package includes:-

  • A mobile library visit twice a year
  • Unlimited projects to resource classroom topics
  • Group reading sets for literacy 
  • Big books for literacy
  • Fiction genre and author packs
  • Unlimited telephone support
  • Professional Support and Development for the school library (up to 3 hours) or Talks to pupils and teachers (up to 3 hours)

TOTAL CHARGE FOR FULL SERVICE

£1385.00  Lump Sum + £5.75 per pupil

Individual services can be purchased at any time during the year

Borrowing from SLS offers the most cost effective way of acquiring resources for your school. A typical 7 class school could borrow £15,014 of resources at a cost of £2,488 to themselves. This statement on value for money explains how.  This document is in Adobe PDF format (168KB)
