Join the Library

Visit your local library

To join the library you have to show proof of your name and address if you want to borrow books or other items. i.e. driver's license, passport, utility bill etc.

Join online

You are now able to join the library by completing the online library membership form which will be sent to the library you select as your home branch.

Once we have registered you as a member your library card will be posted to you and you will be able to use all of our services straight away.

Online joining is not currently available for under 8s as a guarantor's signature is required. A guarantor is usually a parent or other adult who is legally responsible for the young person. Instead, please download and print the joining form pdf icon (530 KB) complete with signature and hand in at your local library.

Worcestershire's Libraries can offer anyone who lives, works or studies in Worcestershire free membership to a library in an instant!

Instant membership entitles you to join and borrow up to 2 books without having to provide any form of identification.

As soon as a membership card is issued, you will have access to the full library service including free internet access on the library's PC's.

You can upgrade your membership to a full membership by providing identification showing your name and address.  This will enable you to borrow more items and benefit from increased services.

Worcestershire's Libraries can now offer children who live in Worcestershire free membership to a library in an instant!

Instant membership for Children entitles 8 – 16 year olds to join and borrow up to 2 books without having to provide a signature from a guarantor.

Child Instant Membership can be upgraded to full membership by visiting a library with a parent or carer (guarantor) with a form of identification showing the guarantor's name and address.  Full membership will entitle children to borrow more items and (with parental consent) have access to public library PC's.

Universal Membership of Public Libraries means that you can use/join Worcestershire's libraries on production of a membership card from any other public library service in England, Wales and Northern Ireland.

On production of your other authority library card you are entitled to Instant Membership (as detailed above) and can be upgraded to full membership on production of formal identification.

Please note that any items you borrow from Worcestershire Libraries must be returned to a Worcestershire Library only.
