LST is an intervention service that helps
schools to support pupils who have learning difficulties. The
majority of the Team’s work is offered at School Action Plus as
described in the SEN Code of Practice (2001). In addition, the Team
monitors pupils where this is identified in their statement of

schools to enable schools to purchase the services they require.
School support work is purchased by schools, on an annual basis,
through a Service Level Agreement (SLA). This not only provides
schools with a number of sessions working with children and young
people, it also allows schools to access specialist advice and
