We are looking for a confident and credible individual to help develop our work as we plan for the growth proposed within the Regional Spatial Strategy, address the challenges of climate change and develop internal and external partnerships in relation to delivering a green future for Worcestershire.
Your advice and reports will influence the future development of our current environmental initiatives such as biodiversity opportunity mapping, landscape character assessment and green infrastructure. You will also oversee the provision of the Councils ecological and landscape responses to planning consultations as well as the advice we provide in regard to the Councils NERC duties in relation to its management of land and buildings. Working closely with the Team leader you will help deliver the team plan and represent the Council on various partnerships.
As you will be leading a multi disciplinary team, management experience with good communication and interpersonal skills will be expected.
You will hold an ecology or landscape related degree with practical experience of developing and managing environmental policy and work programmes, preferably from within the local government sector.
