Human Resources and Organisational
Development

Head of Human Resources and Organisational Development -
Kenny Brown
Welcome to the Human Resources and Organisational Development
(HR and OD) Division of Corporate Services. Our job is to
make sure that the Council excels at people management and we do
this through the following three areas:
- the provision of excellent operational HR services (e.g.
recruitment and training) and change management support to our six
Directorates, to enhance their ability to achieve their key service
objectives.
- the development of new strategies, policies and initiatives
that enable us to maximise the contribution of our people to the
achievement of the Council's short and long terms goals.
- making Worcestershire County Council a great place to work by
improving our performance as an employer.

Every one of the Council's 19,500 employees makes a difference
to the quality of people's lives in Worcestershire and therefore
their work has real meaning. How they do their work is guided
by our 'Way of Working' values –
- can-do
- freedom within boundaries and
- customer focus.
The HR and OD Division has a special responsibility as the
guardian of the Council's values and promotes them during its
numerous contacts with job applicants and employees.
The Division's success is judged on the results it achieves or
contributes to, rather than what it spends its time on. Its
work is therefore focused on clear goals and related measures which
are set out in its Business
Plan
(PDF 94 KB) that will improve
employee performance and support the County Council's Corporate
Plan.
We particularly welcome feedback on any aspect of our HR and OD
services:
