Why have the Worcestershire Districts decided to develop a countywide strategy?

Worcestershire is a diverse, successful and thriving county. In 2009, the six District and Borough Councils of Worcestershire agreeded to develop a brand new countywide Housing Strategy Statement to:

• Achieve the Government's objectives for working in a "joined up" manner to solve housing related issues;
• Ensure that the Sustainable Community Strategy and Housing Strategy for each District are interlinked; 
• Raise the profile of housing with the Worcestershire Partnership who are responsible for allocating funding and resources;
• Build on the joint working initiatives which have already been undertaken, such as the Worcestershire County Homelessness Strategy and the Worcestershire Local Area Agreement.
