Working towards
independence in the community…
PDSS is a community-based service, which provides practical,
emotional and/or social support to individuals.
If you are aged between 18 and 65, and have a physical
disability, Acquired brain injury and/or sensory impairment, then
you could make use of what PDSS has to offer.

The aims and objectives of the physical disability support
service are:
- To encourage individuality and as much independence as
possible.
- To assist you in aspects of your life in the community that you
may find difficult or impossible to manage alone, or to relieve the
pressure on partners/other carers who are helping you at the
moment.
- To assist you to access and make the most of your community and
what it has to offer.

PDSS can help with:
- Social Support:
We can
provide a Support Worker to assist you to go out socially, to
places of interest to you.
- Practical Support:
Your
Support Worker can assist you with the practical day to day tasks
necessary to run your life.
- Emotional Support:
Some
issues in life have no easy solutions. Some have no solutions at
all. Your Support Worker is there to listen, should you wish to
simply sit and talk.

If you think PDSS might be the right service for you, or you
aren't sure and need more information, please contact us on the
