Disability Employment Adviser - Provide specialist support to people who are recently disabled, or those whose disability or health condition has deteriorated and who need employment advice

DFG

Disabled Facilities Grant - Local council grant to help towards the cost of adapting your home to enable you to continue to live there

DIAL

Disability Information Advice Line - National organisation for a network of local disability information and advice services run by and for disabled people

DLA

Disability Living Allowance - A tax-free benefit for children and adults who need help with personal care or have walking difficulties because they are physically or mentally disabled

DLS

Disability Law Services - Provides information and advice to people with a Disability . As a national registered charity DLS is independent, run by and for disabled people.

DN

District Nurse - District nurses care for people in a variety of non-hospital settings including patients' homes, GP surgeries and residential care homes

DRC

Disability Rights Commission - Uses legal enforcement to work towards eliminating discrimination against disabled people. Includes information on disability rights, campaigns and news

DWP

Department of Works and Pensions – Promotes opportunity and Independence, helping people to achieve their potential through employment

Riding for the Disabled Association – Federation of Member Groups dedicated to improving the lives of people with disabilities through the provision of riding and/or carriage driving

Royal National Institute for the Blind – National UK charity providing a good Range of information for blind or partially sighted people

Royal National Institute for Deaf People – A British charitable organization created to improve the lives of deaf and people who are hared of hearing
