Main functions of the Directorate

• Commission and provide social care services, often in collaboration with the NHS, for
  - Older people
  - People with physical disabilities or sensory impairments
  - People with a learning disability
  - People with a mental health problem
• Providing library and lifelong learning services
• Registering births, deaths and marriages; and supporting the Coroners Service
• Providing heritage services including Hartlebury Museum, the Historic Environment and Archaeology service, Record Office, Arts
• Delivering the Supporting People programme
• Hosting the Drug and Alcohol Action Team (DAAT)
• Leading work on Community Safety, including domestic abuse
