More Information
This website is an invaluable resource for new and expectant
families and provides an extension of a DVD produced in
Worcestershire through collaborative working between the
County Council and the Acute Hospitals Trust.
The content was created by experts within
maternity care:
- Anthea Griffiths (Worcestershire Children's Centre
Midwife/ International Board Certified Lactation
Consultant),
- Tracey Cooper (Consultant Midwife in Normality, Worcestershire
Acute Hospitals Trust/ PhD Student, University of Central
Lancashire / Supervisor of Midwives)
- Anne Bradshaw (Antenatal Education Consultant).
Following focus groups with families across Worcestershire
Children's Centres, we identified their wishes and needs for
information.
The idea for ensuring women were aware of how the body works in
relation to pregnancy, labour and birth came from the findings
of Tracey's PhD research at University of Central Lancashire.
Following its success and nomination of an RCM national
award this website has been created.
This website and the DVD would not have been possible without
the families, children's centre staff, midwives, the local branch
of the NCT, nursery nurses and maternity/family support
workers who took part in the filming.
To you we express our gratitude.
