Exchequer

The Exchequer Division brings together the paymaster functions of the County Council with responsibility for making payments to employees, pensioners and suppliers, and for collecting income due to the Council. It is part of Financial Services, and is based in the Wildwood Offices on the County Hall Campus.

Heather Costello, Head of Operational Financial Management, is the Head of Service having responsibility for Exchequer, together with Directorate Support and Children's Services Finance.

Exchequer is currently organised in three main teams and is headed by Charles Cox, Exchequer Manager. These teams are:

• Payroll – which is responsible for the payment of salaries to the Council's employees and also provides payroll services to a number of partner organisations.
• Pensions – which administers the Local Government Pension Scheme on behalf of employers based in Herefordshire and Worcestershire.
• Revenue – which is responsible for making payments to the Council's suppliers and for collecting income due to the Council.
