The Corporate Equalities Board
The Corporate Equalities Board takes a strategic lead on
equalities and diversity issues at Worcestershire County
Council.
The Board is chaired by a Chief Officer, and is comprised of the
Senior Managers from all Directorates, the three Lead Members on
diversity issues and the Equality & Diversity Manager.

Purpose of Board
The Corporate Equalities Board will:
- Be responsible for co-ordinating and monitoring Worcestershire
County Council's work on the Equality Framework for Local
Government, ensuring that the application and implementation is
consistent throughout the authority.
- Actively support the duty to promote equality of opportunity
and good relations and eliminate all forms of discrimination.
- Provide leadership in the development of authority wide
policies, procedures and practice to promote equality of
opportunity in employment and service delivery as a mainstream
activity. This will take account of experience and new and
emerging legislation.
