Employment and Support

The County Council's staff are just like the communities we serve:
people from many backgrounds, each with our own unique talents to
contribute. We have three staff networks with members who seek to:
- Make a positive difference in the workplace.
- Meet like-minded colleagues.
- Offer support to each other at work.

Disability Work Placement Schemes
The Council recognises that there are many disabled people living
in Worcestershire who would like to work but need support in
getting a job, so we have set up work experience programmes for
disabled job-seekers.
The organisations listed below can all help their clients
to apply to join the programme. These voluntary placements are
part-time and can last for up to twelve weeks.
The County Council currently offers voluntary work experience
placements of up to 12 weeks for disabled people preparing to
become work-ready. We can also offer longer term paid
training placements for work-ready disabled job seekers.
Job-seekers on this programme can work up to 16 hours a week for up
to a year; without loss of specified benefit entitlement during
this time.
If you are interested in the work experience programme or the
Paid Training Placement programme then please contact Sandy Bannister,
Corporate Equality & Diversity Programme Manager on 01905
766225.
