The Worcestershire Outdoor Education Development
Association
The association is a support group who’s prime objective is to
help increase the participation in Outdoor Education across the
county, through seeking funding for groups and organisations
working with young people in the outdoors.
As a charatable orgnisation the Association have already raised
some funds to help map school grounds across the County for
orienteering. The group are now looking to commence fudraising for
a much bigger project.
The South Block Accomodation at Malvern Hills Outdoor Education
Centre is almost 100 years old. South Block, a timber building, is
showing signs of it’s age and the impact of thousands of young
people who have stayed there. WOEDA in partnership with the Outdoor
Centre is seeking to help raise funds for a replacement building to
ensure continued access to residential Outdoor Education for
Worcestershire students. We have a target of £1 million over the
next 5 – 10 years which will radically replace and upgrade the
buildings.
The WOEDA Walking Challenge will we hope become a regular
feature of school calanders, an annually event which we hope all
Worcestershire schools will support.
