Information for Families

Bringing up children can be really hard
work. Sometimes we need a bit of extra help and support – and
that's where your Early Intervention Family Support Worker can
help.
Early Intervention Family Support Workers work with a group of
schools and are there to help you and your family if you need it.
It may help to talk to someone who isn't involved or part of the
family.
Early Intervention Family Support Workers have a good understanding
of child development, family life and parenting and can help you in
lots of ways:
- Give you a chance to be listened to
- Help with difficult behaviour and feelings
- Discuss different ways of parenting and introduce new
ideas
- Help find a way forward that's right for you
Your Early Intervention Family Support Worker will listen to what
you have to say and work with you to come up with a plan to improve
the situation. It may be something you can deal with on your own
but you might want some support, which could be:
- Working with your family together or individually
with parents or children
- Learning together as a family.
- Pointing you in the right direction, for example to the
Citizens Advice Bureau or health services.
- You and the school working together
Your Early Intervention Family Support Worker is here to have a
chat and to help if you need it. You can talk to them at home,
at school or wherever you feel comfortable.
