School Uniforms

Most schools within the Worcestershire area tend to uphold a typical school uniform which they wear to school everyday except for special occasions. This page will give you more information about the uniform scheme where if you are eligible, you can receive help towards your childs uniform.

2011/12 School Uniform Scheme

PLEASE NOTE: The 2011/12 scheme closed on 7^th October 2011 as all available funds have been spent. Vouchers already issued remain valid until the date printed on the voucher.

A voucher towards the cost of essential school uniform is available for children starting in reception at a Worcestershire maintained first or primary school, or transferring to a Worcestershire maintained middle or high school at the usual age of transfer. Children are only eligible if they are in receipt of Free School Meals.

If your child will be attending an Academy then you will need to approach the school directly to ask what assistance if any, is available as these schools are outside the control of the Local Authority.

Children transferring to middle or high school within Worcestershire who are already in receipt of Free School Meals should receive a letter after the May half term. If you do not receive a letter please contact us on the details below.

If you do not have a current claim for Free School Meals please apply for this before before submitting a school uniform form. Free School Meals can only be awarded if you or your partner are claiming;

• Income Support
• Job Seekers Allowance - Income Based
• Employment and Support Allowance - Income Related
• Support under part V1 of the immigration and Asylum Act 1999
• Child Tax Credit, provided you are not entitled to Working Tax Credit and have an annual income, ass assessed by HM revenue & Customers that does not exceed £16,190
• Guarantee element of State Pension Credit

The school uniform scheme is subject to revision each year and assistance is normally only provided up to the end of the October half-term.
