Worcestershire Hub Scrutiny Review

The scrutiny examined:

• The development of the Worcestershire Hub, including the shared service
• How to make the Worcestershire Hub fit for purpose in the future
• Differences in provision across Worcestershire, what they are and why they exist?
• What are the gaps in provision and what are the opportunities?

At the end of the investigation, the Task group made recommendations on these areas:

• Clearer governance
• Consistency of performance monitoring
• Encouraging more council services to use the Hub
• Transaction costs across the Hub
• Business continuity planning
• Improving customer feedback and experience
• User friendliness of council websites and consistent IT
• Marketing of the hub brand
• Information flow between service area, hub and vice versa
• Councillor awareness and raising profile of cabinet member portfolio
• Potential role of scrutiny in the Hub and shared service
• Dialogue with parish councils

Membership

A Scrutiny Task Group was set up to carry out this work, which included County Councillors and a District Councillor member from each of the six District Councils.
