Local Economy Scrutiny Review

In 2010 the Environment and Economy Overview and Scrutiny Panel carried out a short review of what the County Council is doing to support the local economy during the recession.

The Panel examined:

• how the Council was addressing the impact of the recession on local people
• whether the Council is ensuring the right qualifications and training for potential employees for Worcestershire's businesses
• how the Council was identifying business sectors and needs in Worcestershire
• how the Council was marketing the county as an attractive location for businesses
• how the Council worked with partners, more about the Local Strategic Partnership (LSP), Local Area Agreements (LAA) and the Star Chamber
• best practice elsewhere.
