Standing
Advisory Council on Religious Education (SACRE)
SACRE advises the Local Authority upon matters
concerned with the provision of Religious Education and Collective
Worship in County Schools. It is also responsible for producing an
Approved Syllabus for Religious Education. SACRE is a statutory
body as laid out in the Education Act 1996.

Membership will be determined following the Annual
Meeting on 23 May 2013 and will be listed here as soon as is
known
Membership consists of five
groups
- Group A – Representatives of different religious groups
- Group B – Church of England Representatives
- Group C – Representatives from Teaching Organisations
- Group D – Three Members of the Authority
- Advisors to SACRE
- All Committee Members
Public Participation
Members of the public wishing to take part
should notify the Director of Resources in writing or by email
indicating the nature and content of their proposed participation
no later than 9.00am on the working day before the meeting.
